Rising above Gorey Harbour, Mont Orgueil is one of Jersey’s most recognisable landmarks. Inside, a maze of staircases, towers, rooms and battlements leads through centuries of island history, with far-reaching views across the east coast and towards France.
The castle has many levels, stairs and uneven historic surfaces. Last entry is one hour before closing. Seasonal hours apply, so check Jersey Heritage before travelling.
The route to the castle has uneven ground. There are two approaches: a steep step-free red-brick route and another route with steep steps. One designated disabled parking space is available near the upper approach.
