We tried it: Veranda

Seasonal sips, a scrumptious brunch and very full tummies… our latest foodie stop had all the ingredients for a lovely autumn outing.

Our first impression

Veranda is a little gem in Gorey that we wanted to share as we start introducing the Eat & Drink side of Find.je.

Although calling it a new discovery would be a slight stretch—we already regularly pop in for coffee because it’s unbelievable! This time, we settled in for some food and tried two autumn drink specials. A very sensible use of our time, we thought.

What we tried

Pecan flat white and Biscoff chai at Veranda

Pecan flat white & Biscoff chai

Two very autumnal specials that were both delish. A lovely seasonal change from your usual coffee order, while they’re available.

Egg and chorizo hash

My choice for brunch, and a very good decision. Scrumptious and thoroughly enjoyed.

Royal BLT

My partner’s pick, which also went down extremely well. Between the two dishes and our drinks, we left with very full tummies.

What stood out

The coffee is what keeps bringing us back, but this visit reminded us that it’s worth staying for food too.

We also have to mention a favourite from previous visits: the grilled cheese with soup. Highly recommended, especially when you fancy something comforting on an autumn day.

The seasonal drinks gave us a lovely excuse to try something different—and we’d happily order both again.

Our honest verdict

A very happy thumbs-up from us. Whether you’re popping in for coffee, meeting someone for a catch-up or making time for brunch, Veranda is worth a visit.

We were already regulars, and this outing did nothing to change that. Good coffee, scrumptious food and autumn specials we’re still thinking about? We’ll be back.

Already a regular? Tell us your go-to order—we’re always open to suggestions for next time.
